The intervention involved the façade of Palazzo Boileau, University of Pisa. The decorated surfaces on the façades facing via Santa Maria and Via Ghini were in question: the eaves cornice, cornices, window surrounds, roof skirting, balconies, entrances, and the bust of Ferdinando de ‘Medici.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERVENTION OF RESTORATION
The restoration consisted of the following phases:
– Reorganisation and cleaning of the original surface;
– Demolition of incongruous reconstructions (in concrete);
– Moderate integration of the gaps for a balanced reading of the entire architectural composition of the façade.
